About
My own vision of the world
Photography began as a way to remember journeys the way I saw them.
I’m Richard, a PhD student who loves travelling in my little spare time. Photography began as an excuse to go sightseeing and share what I found - but my phone photos never captured what I was actually seeing, hearing and feeling, and looking back at them always left me unsatisfied. Two years ago I bought a camera and a lens, learned the basics of composition and editing, and it has enriched my life in a way I’ll never regret.
One of my greatest passions in life is to try all I can and to never stick to just one thing. I hope that I can show this through my Portfolio, where I have put photos from all ranges of photography that I have attempted - from Portrait to Wildlife and Astrophotography.
“Just point the camera, and have fun.” - My friend and photography mentor, Paopao.
Approach
I only take pictures when I feel inspired, be it by beauty or the strive to remember a moment. Here in my portfolio, I write a sentence for every photo to detail its story, in a simple and personal way to give it just enough more meaning.
